Georges Siegenthaler who launched the project, is a biochemist, former assistant professor at the medical faculty of the Geneva University. He is deeply committed to exploring alternative ways of cultivating vine-yards, fermentations, aromas and the idea of "garage wines".
Eugène Castella, a retired neighbour, who immediately expressed a keen interest in this somewhat wild project, has become one of its mainstays, with his wife Renée who is in charge of payments.
René Lerges, so as Marlène and Alain Philibert, then Marcel Pétrod soon joined the team. They take an active part in working the vineyards and bottling the wine.
Frederik Sjollema, after training at the Domaine des Balisiers in Peney near Geneva, started working at Vens in 2007 and is very enthusiastic about this project.
Sound science and enthusiasm are not enough to make good wines, so the team called upon Jean-Michel Novelle, an excellent vintner and oenologist from Satigny near Geneva, who was generous in his advice on growing vines and producing fine wines.
Michel Gentil, resident-painter at the Belle de Mai Friche in Marseille offered to produce artwork for the labels.
Lastly, Christiane de Charmant kindly agreed to translate our website into English.
At present we are the only producers Seyssel wines in the Haute-Savoie and one of the smallest commercial wine-growing estates in the area.
